Living Lands has been appointed as implementing agent for the award of Table Mountain Fund (TMF) (a WWF initiative)  micro-grant agreements across the Baviaanskloof planning domain. The funding has been made possible through Conservation International.

Living Lands have established the Baviaanskloof Green Fund Micro Grants. An information flyer is available for download here.

The Baviaanskloof Green Fund Micro Grants are being awarded with the aim of supporting and helping to establish local community based organisations and other informal groups. Such collectives must have a vision to engage in activities with an environmental and conservation focus which, at the same time, foster community development and capacity building. The grants are based on three criteria.  In order for an applicant to be considered for a possible grant, the project has to comply with at least two of the criteria.

These criteria are:

1. The project has a conservation, environmental management and local economic development focus;

2. The project is aligned with a Municipality’s integrated development plan (IDP);

3. The project capacitates the community and raises awareness on environmental issues and opportunities.

The micro grants being awarded are up to the value of R15 000 (excl. VAT).

The project is still in its early stages and is beginning to accept project application forms for consideration.
