Living Lands on the landscape

Patensie (SA): EarthCollective is proud to announce the successful incorporation of Living Lands as a Section 21 Not for Profit Organisation (NPO) in South Africa. Living Lands will primarily serve as the secretariat for the established PRESENCE platform. “The main function of Living Lands…

“The main function of Living Lands is to become the institutional housing for PRESENCE” explains acting director Matthew Zylstra. “The idea is that this foundation will support PRESENCE by providing a solid legal and financially accountable basis for PRESENCE. So Living Lands is unlikely to be actively marketed in the public domain but will instead establish itself as a South African-based foundation providing institutional support to a range of restoration-related initiatives in the Eastern Cape.”

And the logo? “We tried to keep the logo simple but effective” says Matthew. “Obviously, the second letter is what will draw people’s curiousity. That character simply merges the key elements of what Living Lands restoration will be supporting: trees, water and people. And of course it also then reads as “loving” – we think our landscapes need a good dose of that too in order to ensure true restoration.
