CVNI
The Cultural Values and Nature Initiative promotes the integration and communication of sacred sites and cultural
and spiritual values in biocultural conservation strategies.
CVNI’s works with Partners on collaborative projects in various capacities in order to facilitate local people’s cultural and spiritual values of nature in conservation management and policy. Therefore CVNI’s work is typically locally owned whilst enabling its integration and communication across local and global levels. The work of CVNI takes place along two main themes that run parallel at various Case Studies:
- Integrating cultural and spiritual values into nature conservation management & policy
- Management and conservation of Sacred Natural Sites.
Based on an open and flexible approach to a range of cultural worldviews, perceptions and values CVNI supports collaborative projects and action research and develops a body of Case Studies around the world. With a strong believe in multidisciplinary and intercultural ways of working and learning CVNI makes available Publications and disseminates and communicates “best practice” and “lessons learned”.
