eyes4earth launch "very encouraging"

Wageningen (NL): EarthCollective’s recent expanded launch of the eyes4earth initiative has been deemed “a success” by all those involved. Following last month’s earlier eyes4earth.org website launch, eyes4earth team members took the research and communication initiative to the public with the question: “What did nature do for your today?”.

Today’s review of the recent project events in Arnhem and Wageningen is part of EarthCollective’s routine monitoring and evaluation of project activities undertaken.

eyes4earth coordinator Matthew Zylstra said “As a first run, we couldn’t have asked for more. The energy of all those involved really needs to be commended and the reaction and interest from the public was very encouraging.” EarthCollective colleague and Cultural Values of Nature Initiative (CVNI) Programme Coordinator, Bas Verschuuren noted, ” You could see people’s reaction changing. At first, the people we surveyed weren’t so sure of what it was all about but then they caught on and got into the idea. At the end, you could really see a greater awareness and understanding of their relationship to nature emerging.”

EarthCollective intends to hold similiar events at various locations arond the world in the coming year.
