Who Is EarthCollective
EarthCollective is a global peer-to-peer network of dedicated professionals, students and volunteers connected through a shared vision of supporting collective understanding and improvement of the vital links between a healthy natural environment and human well-being.
Members involved with EarthCollective initiatives aspire to catalyse and enable positive change. Members recognise that change in some form or another is ever-present and can occur outwardly or within. Their shared experiences are often also very much a process of growing personally and collectively through patience, passion and perseverance. This is most effective when guided by mindful action (coupled with an appreciation of the power of thought) which when combined can make positive ideas happen.
EarthCollective members have diverse cultural backgrounds and life histories and originate from countries such as Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Costa Rica, France, Germany Netherlands, South Africa and Spain. All of EarthCollective’s members are helping to evolve the EarthCollective vision and initiatives in various capacities.
Where Is EarthCollective
EarthCollective is a global network. Its physical presence is largely defined by the initiatives which it catalyses or supports in various ways and capacities. EarthCollective has its ‘institutional home’ in The Netherlands through its long-standing affiliation with the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD). In South Africa, EarthCollective is formally represented through the Living Lands foundation. In other countries, EarthCollective, often through its individual members or initiatives, works in close alliance with other organisations.
When Did EarthCollective Form
EarthCollective was founded in February 2006 by young professionals, graduates and students connected to Wageningen University, at the City of Life Sciences in The Netherlands. Together these individuals created the vibrant EarthCollective network to form synergies between colleagues and contacts which support the development of their positive ideas into viable initiatives. As various initiatives evolved over the years, more people have became involved through their own respective capacities to support the continued growth of EarthCollective.
